Ernesto Maurer has been appointed as the new President of Cematex, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers. Ernesto Maurer has been appointed as the new President of Cematex, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers. His four-year term of office will cover three major events in the pivotal ITMA series of textile technology exhibitions scheduled for Europe and Asia. Maurer was elected at the Cematex General Assembly, on June 12. He is President of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association since 2015, serving during the same period as a member of the Cematex Board of Directors and its 1st Vice-President for the past four years. In light of the current coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 has been rescheduled, despite receiving strong response from exhibitors. In light of the current coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 has been rescheduled, despite receiving strong response from exhibitors. Originally slated to be held in October, the combined show will now take place from 12 to 16 June 2021 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC), Shanghai. Cematex Elects Permanent Secretary General

Cornelia Buchwalder, Secretary General of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association, has been appointed as the permanent Secretary General to Cematex. A new Secretary General has been chosen by Cematex, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers. Cornelia Buchwalder has served on an interim basis since June 2019, following the retirement of Maria Avery, and was elected to the permanent position by the Cematex Board on March 12. Buchwalder has a wide knowledge of the global textile equipment sector, having managed the Swiss Textile Machinery Association since 2013 and been closely involved in organising participation at the major global trade shows and various international events. Her experience takes in the ITMA exhibitions in Europe at Milan (2015) and Barcelona (2019)...

Strong attendance affirms combined show’s industry-leading position in the region. ITMA ASIA + CITME 2018, the region’s leading textile machinery exhibition, ended successfully after five days of exciting product demonstrations and business networking. The sixth combined exhibition welcomed visitorship of over 100,000 from 116 countries and regions, with an increase of 10 per cent from domestic visitors compared to the 2016 show.  Online visitor registration for ITMA 2019, the world’s largest textile and garment manufacturing technology showcase, opens today. Held every four years, the exhibition will be staged at Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via venue, Spain, from 20 to 26 June 2019. Visitors can enjoy early bird rates until 15 May 2019 when they buy badges online at www.itma.com/reg.  A one-day badge costs 40 euros, and a seven-day badge is 80 euros. CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, today announced that ITMA will return to Milan, Italy, for its 19th edition. ITMA 2023 will be held at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre from 8 to 14 June 2023. The decision to host ITMA 2023 in Milan was taken at the CEMATEX General Assembly held recently.  Mr Fritz P Mayer, President of CEMATEX, explained: “We received very positive feedback from ITMA 2015 exhibitors and visitors.
