Starlinger built 10,000 circular looms in China. The Chinese branch of the Austrian Starlinger Group has been producing circular looms for plastic fabrics since 2006. In autumn 2018, Starlinger Taicang reached a milestone with the 10,000th circular loom. Starlinger Plastics Machinery Taicang currently has a workforce of around 75 employees at the 9,400 m² plant in the Chinese province Jiangsu near Shanghai. The factory is a local branch of the Austrian Starlinger Group, which early on recognized the potential of the Chinese market and the importance of a global presence. A well attended in-house event was held in Changzhou from15.-18.01.2019 to launch KARL MAYER’s new warp knitting machine with weft insertion. KARL MAYER has developed a new warp knitting machine with weft insertion, the TM WEFT, and successfully launched this new machine at an in-house show held at its Chinese subsidiary in Changzhou. Representatives from more than ten companies came every day between 15 and 18 January 2019 to attend the machine presentation, and these included knitters and weavers, as well as finishers interested in moving into textile production. The guests travelled from all over China, mainly from Jiangsu and Zheijiang, as well as from Shandong and Hebei. They were all impressed by the cost:benefit ratio of the machines on show. Strong attendance affirms combined show’s industry-leading position in the region. ITMA ASIA + CITME 2018, the region’s leading textile machinery exhibition, ended successfully after five days of exciting product demonstrations and business networking. The sixth combined exhibition welcomed visitorship of over 100,000 from 116 countries and regions, with an increase of 10 per cent from domestic visitors compared to the 2016 show. Growth in the fair and growth in the market: exhibitor and buyer increases at Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen, which concluded last Saturday, reflected the strength of the Southern China fashion sector. The fair welcomed a record 971 exhibitors from 12 countries & regions (2017: 721), and 17,664* trade buyers from 35 countries & regions (2017: 15,608). Accommodating these extra exhibitors, the fair occupied one more hall this edition, and covered 37,500 sqm (2017: 30,000).
