The new national government-organised China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in November, has necessitated the need for long-term renovation of halls at the fairground, requiring Yarn Expo Autumn 2018 to be held one month later, and concurrent with ITMA ASIA + CITME, from 15 – 17 October. The scale and importance of CIIE – an initiative launched personally by Chinese President Xi Jinping at a Belt & Road Forum in 2017, and hosted by the country’s Ministry of Commerce – has necessitated the renovation of three halls at the National Exhibition and Convention Center for a period of two months starting in early September. In Atlanta, Georgia/USA, from 22 to 24 May 2018, the Texprocess Americas and Techtextil North America trade fairs were held at the exhibition site of the Georgia World Congress Center. Groz-Beckert was represented with its product sectors Sewing, Felting and Carding and welcomed around 500 guests at its booth. For Groz-Beckert this years' exhibition was very successful with an increased visitor number compared to 2016. One reason was that the fairs did not overlap with the IDEA as in 2016. Furthermore, the automation and filtration sector are becoming more and more important, which attracted more visitors than in the years before. With a two-thirds majority, visitors at Groz-Beckert’s booth were mainly from the US but also more guests came from Central and South America than in 2016.

CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, today announced that ITMA will return to Milan, Italy, for its 19th edition. ITMA 2023 will be held at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre from 8 to 14 June 2023. The decision to host ITMA 2023 in Milan was taken at the CEMATEX General Assembly held recently.  Mr Fritz P Mayer, President of CEMATEX, explained: “We received very positive feedback from ITMA 2015 exhibitors and visitors.
